The Green-lipped mussel contains special Omega-3 fatty acids and glycosamine glycanes

Green-lipped musselThe green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) is a very special type of mussel that only lives in the pure and still unpolluted waters of New Zeeland. Synofit does not use extracts from the Green-lipped mussel but uses GLMax®, a unique stabilized liquid containing the whole and pure green-lipped mussel. As a result, all natural ingredients remain present including all Omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA, DHA, ETA, ETE and DTA including the glycosamino glycans such as glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate. Contrary to dried extracts and powders Synofit does not use heating in their process that is known to result in loss of activity of various beneficial ingredients.

Curcumin protects cells and tissues from damage

Curcumin Curcumin is the principle active compound found in the plant curcuma longa and is the main ingredient of turmeric. This beautiful plant is part of the Ginger-family. Curcumin is a 100% bioavailable compound from the Turmeric root. In Asia, this plant has been used for ages for all kinds of applications. Turmeric has a tasty, soft-spicy taste, and is therefore still used in various Indian and Pakistani dishes, like curry.

Blackcurrant leaf (Ribes nigrum)

Ribes nigrumDuring the early years of Synofit’s existence, the Blackcurrant leaf (Ribes Nigrum) was not a major focus. The most striking ingredients of Synofit are GLMax® liquid Green-lipped mussel and Bio-Curcumin BCM-95®. Despite being overshadowed, the Blackcurrant leaf was already an important ingredient of Synofit Premium's successful total formula in those early years.

Boswellia: a centuries-old tree

BoswelliaThe Boswellia serrata tree has been known for over 3,000 years for the use of its incense. There are a couple Boswellia trees: for example, the Boswellia carterii and Boswellia sacra are more Arabian variants. The Boswellia that we use is the Boswelia from the Boswellia serrata tree, which grows mainly in Northern India in the arid mountain areas. On this page we explain what it is and why we use it in one of our products.
